systems and alternators
my alternator just crapped out and i think it has been for a while, my cars been sittin though... but someone said its because i had a system and now i dont... it kills honda alternators he said?? i plan on gettin a system later but not guarenteed to leave it in forever... so should i just get a bigger higher amp alternator or is he just retarded and its ok to buy a stock one?

But is that a true statement - if you have a system putting more amps to an alternator, and then you take it all out, and it releives all the stress, it just hurts it more? is that true?
and i plan on ending up with going with the xpod set up of 2 1000 watt amps and 2 12" xplod subs

Dont take this the wrong way or anything but Sony car audio equipment is crap. If your are on a budget piece together your system progressively. You will be much happier in the end with a quality system that consists of quality equipment. I recommend Alpine and Pioneer. That is what I have in my car.
^^^^ ditto that, i started out my car stereo, with 2 **** 12" audiobahns and some 2 crappy "1000" watt amps, it sounded awesome
invest in a nice amp now, and work your way up to nice subs. Dont go vice versa, crap amp on good subs could mean burnt subs
but in the end its up to you, and if you like the sony stuff than go for it. Were not bashing ya, we were just in yours shoes once.

thanks, the more ive been looking into xplod... it gets worse as i know more about it, i had weak kicker subs and a little amp and it sounded better... just rebuilding the alternator dew to not that much money, definately not upgrading if ill have horsepower loss lol, im not that into it.... thanks everyone
