Default Gauges in cluster - do the needles reset themselves?

Hey-

Just a quick question... When working with the actual gauges (OUT of the gauge cluster) from a 95 civic, if the needles are moved a little will they reset themselves when you turn the car on?

I remember working on a 99 accord and they reset themselves, or at least I think they did.

As far I know yes, at least that's how my Ek is and I see why that wouldn't becase as soon as you power up you give the gauge a signal and it outputs it. hope that helps.

as long as the needle doesn't slip on the gauge shaft itself you're fine.
If you take the needle off, the gauge needs to be re-cal'd.

Yes, they do. I seem to remember on my 96 the needles went 'limp' and swayed around once the guages were out anyway, so I would of been screwed if they didnt

well im intentionally touching the needles but i did notice they moved about 1mm - 2mm or so when handling them.

Hopefully that wouldnt mess up too much, anymore opinions?
