temp guage going up to hot, someone help please.
i have a 93 civic dx. i just changed the thermostat in march 2005 and all of a sudden the temp gauge is almost at H when i drive it.
is this a symptom of a headgasket failure on its way. i know that civics of this yr. are prone to headgasket failures, so could mines be on its way out?

I figure you have been driving it for some time now since you replaced the thermostat roughly 3 months ago, but did you make sure to get all of the air out of the cooling system? Other than that, check for leaks as well.

i believe that might be the problem, i bled the system but i might've not done it right. i'm going to do it again and see what happens.

no leaks and no smoke at the moment.
thanks everyone for your input, i'll try bleeding the system properly and go from there.

just because you replaced the thermostat doesn't mean it's not bad...
it may also be possible that your radiator is clogged or your water pump is bad.
if it's a bad headgasket, you'll probably be blowing smoke and you should be able to notice your coolant level slowly diminishing...
