Default Help: Symtoms of a bad pcv...

Just wondering if anybody out there can tell me what are some signs that the pcv valve is going bad... I've got a B18c in my hatch and lately during acceleration the power drops off when it's at WOT starting around 2500 rpm. Changed the fuel filter, plugs and wires, checked the cap and rotor, and checked timing. The timing was 1 degree low (15 degrees, I believe the range for that motor is 16 to 18 degrees) but that shouldn't make the power drop off like that should it? There are no mods done to the car other than an intake and exhaust. The motor was running fine with the two mods done before and all of a sudden it started acting up. Thought it was a misfire at first but changed/checked everything associated with that except the coil..... Let me know your thoughts... Thanks again

Its easy to diagnose. Just take it out and shake it...if it rattles then your good to go...if it doesnt make any noise then its time for a new one. It only takes like 2 minutes to get it off so just go check it. Good luck

2min to actually take it off, but a crapload of time to actually remove other wires/lines to get it it.
