Default ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I know there have been lots of topics on 4 door integra exhaust, and i assure you i checked them all, but my problem still remains.

I have a 2001 4 Door GS-R and I really want header back exhaust. I read that 94-99 LS exhaust will work, but I need to find header back since I am sure new exhaust will not fit on the factory cat, and a high flow cat would be nicer anyways. I want to get dc sports 4-1 headers and some type of exhaust (thermal, apexi, tanabe, 5zigen) that is not screaming N1 loud, but deep and good. I am new to the forums and new to car mods, so forgive my ignorance, but please help me with this GS-R!

You could allways buy a muffler and just have custom pipe done. Any muffler shop should be able to do this for you.

any bolt on exhaust and or header you will by from the companys mentioned will fit your cat just order the application for your car. Though I know that thermal makes a 3in for turbo applications.

I'll tell you what I did, and it works:
I bought a JDM ITR 4-1 header, catco high flow cat, and Fujitsubo RM-01a exhaust.
The header fits fine, tough as hell, and is one of the best bang-for-buck headers you can get. 2.5" collector. Think I spent $175 for it?
The Catco cat I got off ebay for $50, it was universal so I had to get flanges welded on to suit the header and catback. Its 2.5" piping.
The exhaust was designed for a DC2, but it fits perfectly on my DB8. At the time I bought it, it was also the lightest SS exhaust on the market, mandrel bends and 2.5" OD all the way through. Everyone will have different opinions on exhaust sounds obviously, and I am biased to the RM-01a obviously, but I'll still say that the RM-01a is the best sounding off the shelf exhaust you can get. I spent $680 or so iirc.

thanks that gives me an option.......i guess my problem is that i want to do it myself and honestly most of the muffler shops around here in Chapin, SC aren't too good, so i am kind of being picky about what to put on the teg, but who wouldn't be?

kind of considering 97-99 ls/rs exhaust which someone said would fit a 00-01 gs-r becuase they are the same cat sizes, etc.

Mieneke was suggested to me a number of times when I was making the same decision. As long as they can use some quality steel, do mandrel bends and make sure it fits well, it is a good deal. afaik its always gonna be cheaper than OTS stuff, plus any difference in hp gains would be negligible. You just provide the muffler I think.

best idea evar. i would never go anything but custom piping. i like the idea of choosing my muffler tilt.

i guess that is an option, i just always have heard that custom piping at meineke or something sounds like ***...........and i honestly think it is going to be a little overpriced.......or more than just buying h/b exhaust (due to custom building costs and then installation)
