Default NA is best (replacing turbo manifold)

Well, Friday I got off my *** and decided to tear my car apart, in anticipation of the new catback and exhaust manifold coming this week. Well, Thermal drop-shipped the wrong exhaust, but with a little luck I'll still get my manifold and downpipe tomorrow.

My exhaust manifold cracked on the last lap of Expo, not bad timing at all! But that left me looking for a mani with a Nissan T25 flange and a port for an external gate. That didn't exist, so I had to get a T3 flanged housing for the GT2871R turbo I have, got a Lovefab Mini-Me manifold, 3" downpipe, and Thermal 3" exhaust (to replace my Tanabe Racing Jasmaddalion).

So, yeah, here I am waiting for parts. I have to practice my welding, maybe now is a good time.

Next track day is July 2.

Yeah, about that long. But SERIOUSLY, I think it'll have a good 3-4 weekends on it before the next major (spun bearing, cracked cylinder, turbo exploding) event happens.

P.S. Next time something major happens, this becomes a street car and I get a race car. OR, if nothing happens, I'm going HU with this and I'll daily drive a tow rig.

You mean the remainder of the front bumper support? Totally. I was thinking about touching it up.

Can you drive out here and TEACH me to weld?

Give a man a weld, he'll race for a day. Teach a man to weld, he'll race for a lifetime.

Give me the same one two weekends in a row, I'll ball it up at the track out for Canada Corner. Brake pad ashes only slow a car down so long.

I can get you off the line on high boost, then you'll be trying to chase me as I lay a 3 mile oil slick right on the line! SUCKERS!!!

"Hmm, another pile up on the outside of turn 1... wonder why that is..."

If that doesn't slow you down, I'll hit you with my go-go-gadget turbo smokescreen!

If THAT doesn't slow you down, I'll just leave bits of my crankshaft and rods all over the place to puncture your tires. Maybe some brake rotor chunks while I'm at it.

From the photo, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like you might want to replace that driver's side headlight cover, too.

Although... I just checked Delray Acura parts and, from the diagram, it looks like you have to replace the entire headlight unit, for around $400, and you can't just get the plastic cover. I don't know whether that's true or not, though. If so, I can understand why you might let it slide...

For a second, I thought you saw the scratch I just put on the face of it taking the manifold/turbo/downpipe out! But you can't make it out in the picture.

Instead, you must be seeing a reflection against the back of the housing, looking at the inside of the plastic cover. It does appear to be a large spidered crack, or something, but it's not.

Mke mile event was CANCELLED/POSTPONED!

I kinda taught myself to weld.

One note, exposed flesh gets UV burns. That surprised me the next day.

Also, I STILL have no exhaust manifold. Waiting and waiting...

Learn to weld foo!
http://www.google.com/local?hl...ocalr

One if not all of these community colleges in the major chicago area probably teaches classes on welding. Spend the dough and go take a semester.
