Default help with power window switches

i got a power window kit for my dx hatch. i got some power window swtiches from a ford explorer. every switch i have looked at has 5 wires coming out of it. the only thing that i can understand is two power and two ground, but the 5th wire? Two wires coming out are yellow and two are red. the 5th one is brown. any ideas on how to wire it up?

I think it goes a little something like this......
1 positive from batt (wire #1)
1 ground from batt (wire #2)
1 positive for motor (wire #3)
1 ground for motor (wire #4)
1 switched power (wire #5)

Ta! Da!

Please correct me if im wrong. After all I am an idiot.

ok, i still have no idea how to hook this crap up. i tried connecting the two postive and two negatives and got the window to roll up or down without touching the button. that is as close as i have gotten, still no functional button.

you need to use relays those switches were not meant for a lot of amperage to go through them you can burn them out

could be the lockout wire for the driver switches.

check here for the basics of window switches:
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/power-window2.htm

and my suggestion if you cant get them to work is get some Spal switches. they even come with harnesses and directions.

windows use 20amps max, no need for relays. most cars dont use em to begin with
