well last night at a meet someone mentioned to me that the head on my b16 was a 2nd gen. one....now the block is a 1st gen and until now i thought that it was a 1st gen head as well...how can i check if my head is from a 1st gen or 2nd... i recently built my head with full supertech valvetrain and sk2s2 cams...much to my dismay i found out i needed to change out the LMAs after i had already reassembled the head....the only reason i ask this is because i know that the first gen heads were not made with LMAs large enough to support high lift cams and the second gen was...i just need to know so i dont have to take the head apart again...thanks

 

2nd gen heads have the p30 stamp on the top in between the vtec solenoid and distributor.

 

i see..ill go check it out right now....he said something about 92 being stamped on it...but since i dont know much about what those headstamping means i wasnt quite sure where he was lookin....now wouldnt there be a compatability issue with my obd0 car...but the car runs fine only has cel22 occasionally

 

well i went and looked and it has a 30 stamped between the solenoid and dizzy....however..on the exhaust side of the block it is stamped pr3-1...so im not quite sure how to tell
