Default Need chatterbox help with Arai helmet

I recently switched to a rx7 corsair and I'm having problems installing a chatterbox to the helmet. Where the speakers need to be placed theres a cloth piece from the cheekpads covering the area. A friend told me that I need to cut off the cloth piece to place the speakers but I really don't want to cut anything. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

i think they are better off in your cheek pads. you can hear everything just clearly and your ears wont hurt during long rides and when you remove and put on your helmet. It works fine in my friends rx7 and my x-11. After a while..you wont even notice the speakers.

Take off your cheek pads and remove the cloth cover. Slide in your speakers and run the cables out the back. Tuck it all in, and you're done.

Arai is easy to install a chatterbox on.

I don't know too much about the Chatterbox communicators. I know you can communicate from biker to biker, but if I'm rolling w/ some of my friends in cars, can I talk to them with their hand-held walkie-talkies and vice versa, assuming the frequency can be adjusted?

Chatterbox is basically a walkie talkie inside a helmet. So all you need to do is be on the same channel.

Oh thanks! One more thing, when talking to others, do you have to push some kinda button to talk, or can you just talk to the communicator while having both hands on the handle bars?

On the unit itself there is a button which most people use to talk. But it can also be voice activated as well. Bad thing about that is when you're riding in high speeds the wind noises will actually turn it on. And the receiving end would just hear unpleasant wind noises .
