Ok i have been looking through the faq's and have done some searches but didn't find anything.

So my question is this how do the pro's run cables, are there any special tools that they use, how do alarm/stereo installers get the wires through the firewall cleanly.

Can all you pro's or those with experience post tips on running cables through doors and firewalls ?

 

From engine bay through firewall, use unused holes with grommets if there are any, or use, [if there is room] other holes with wires going through already, or if you have to drill a hole, [be carfull, know whats on the other side] and use a grommet, same goes for the doors, use the "boot" that's there, [a pain sometimes, when there are plugs in the doorjamb, but doable] or drill and install your own "boot", [a real pain]. 94

 

Use a silicone sealant to seal up the hole after you run the wire through. Protect the wire with wire loom in the engine bay and anywhere it rubs against metal. Run the rca cables on the oposite side of the car from the power wire and not along any other wire looms in the car (if you can).
