I HAVE A 89 HONDA CIVIC HATCHBACK.. 1.5L DX AND WHEN I FIRST START MY MOTOR ITS COLD AND FINE.. AS IT HEATS UP IT STARTS TO IDEL OR REV UP TO LIKE 1500 rpm 2GRANDrpm I GIVE IT A REV AND IT COMES BACK DOWN.. WHAT COULD BE THE PROB.. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME BC ITS BOTHERIN ME AND I I NEED TO FIX IT... THANKS IN ADVANCED..

 

That same thing happend to me a while back..It was the IACV..I cleaned it out and the problem went away..

 

You have air in your coolant lines. Wait for the car to be cold then start it. Loosen the coolant bleed bolt next to the dizzy and as soon as coolant comes out close it. That takes all the air out of the lines. Try that first. All you need is a 10mm wrench I think.

edit- it can't be the eacv otherwise it would happen all the time and not only in normal op temp.
