misfire

Default misfire

installed a new cap and rotor and now everytime it starts going into high rpm's it'll just make a pop pop pop sound. what could it be? no other changes were made to my car besides the new cap and rotor

a pop pop?, can you feel a drain in power, like it is running on less than 4 cylinders?

I would go with replacing other ignition components, plugs, wires, maybe even the ignitor if that has gone bad

I'll bet all the money I own that your plug wires are either 90 degrees off or in the wrong order .

i don't know what he means by that either, but i would think if they are in the wrong order it wouldn't run fine in the lower rpms either. check your wires and plugs though

its not the wires or plugs, they are in the correct order and plugs are fine

make sure u put the screw back into the rotor and that there is no debre in side the cap like oil or water

yup, tightened the rotor down and opened up the cap and didnt find anything in it

maybe u got a bad rotor or cap does any of the points look burnt

nope, they were all in wrapping and i checked it b4 i installed it
