Dented Header Hurt Performance??
i wanted to see what you guys think about this pretty good size dent i have in my comptech long tube header. i bought it like this so it wasn't my fault, but i want to see if it's big enough to where it's gonna hurt the performance and should do something about and if it is what can i do??

Thanks. Alex.

Thanks. Alex.
man that sucks
you can cut that shiet out and weld a thick piece of metal on it, thats what my guy did, but he works at a machine shop. i wouldnt recommend. btw how much did u get that for anyway?

OUCH!!! Yea thats gonna hurt your performance because it will cause turbulance through that tube. You might be able to heat it up with a torch, take a broom handel and shove it in there to straighten it out a little. Think of a header like a insturment, like a tuba or flute or something like that. Its not just the size of the tube that helps flow, but it tunes it so its not turbulent goint through there which creats a nice flow. You have one fucked up tuba
like TsukubaDreams said u might wanna heat it up and try to see if u can push that piece out. It doesnt look too big of a dent.

Ive a DC 4-1 with worse dents than that. I cut them up and welded . Dented them again, and welded another piece again. I couldnt tell the difference honestly, maybe because my butt dyno isnt as accurate as others.
I remember my first header, i crushed them so bad the two pipes were flat as paper. Car could hardly accelerate but i had to drive back home for another 20miles.
