HELP! Replaced clutch now car vibrates.
OK so like the title says. I replaced my stock oem replacement clutch with a stage 2 6 puck clutch and 1800lbs pressure plate. In the process of putting everything back on we got to the tranny mount and i decided to buzz it in with air,so 2 or the 3 bolts on the mount are stripped. The bolts are in their and wont come out but it wont stop spinning as much as i tighten it. The car drives fine, only thing is that it will feel like the motor is moving when i shift and my foot comes off the clutch. u feel it most when your starting out in 1st gear pulling off the car starts to vibrate like its the tranny moving or something. Any suggestions on what to do? I was thinking to tap the bolt holes 1 size bigger and put new bolts in the same length.
also i can get on it, catch gears and it will jerk alot and feel like the dash is coming out. i then check the tranny mount and bolts and they are all still their.
its called chatter
what kind of 6 puck do you have?
and for future refrence ANYTIME you use air to zip a bolt on start it by hand for the first few threads.
also 1800lb pressure plate sounds reeeealy low. more info on the clutch please.

Thats more than likely your problem. You should of had your flywheel resurfaced. Also was there anyoil on the preasure plate? Usually they have some oil on them to prevent rust, and you have to clean it off before installation.

Just curious, is this an eclutchmaster clutch or is it a Clutch Masters clutch? I ask because a lot of people think that eclutchmaster is the same thing when they are a totally differant company. I asume it is an eclutchmaster since our stage 2 clutch is a full face kevlar disc, not a puck style. Anyways, just wanted to clear that up, but I would suspect that if two of threee tranny mount bolts are stripped then those bolts have probably loosend and maybe fallen out already which means that your moter would be moving quite a bit! I would drill them and tap them to the next bigger size as soon as posible. As far as the flywheel goes, you should always resurface your flywheel when installing a new clutch, our kits come with the proper flywheel grinding step information to ensure that the flywheel is ground to the exact specs in order for the clutch to work perfectly with the flywheel. Let me know if you have any questions at all

My boys car does the same thing. He's got a 6 puck w/o springs forgot what brand. i told him he was puffin crack when he bought it cause its his everyday driver. Yeh if your tranny has 2 stripped bolts that mean you only have 1 bolt holding the tranny in. Not good. Is it the top motor mount or the one that bolts on the front? If it's the front one not a big deal but if its the top one thats not good.
its the side mount on the top of the tranny. and yea im going to go the next step up and put a new bolt in as soon as i can. thanks for all the info
