Default Changing the clutch on a 92 civic?

My buddy asked me if I can change his clutch for him. I've done a lot of work on VW's, including swaps, clucthes, etc, but haven't done much work on hondas.
I was just wondering what tools I'll need to change the clutch... I don't wanna cary my whole tool box with me because we're gonna do it at his house.
Also, is there anything that I'm gonna have troubles with, or is it pretty straight forward, and can you guys give me some tips of what would make it easier/less time consuming?

Thanks

If I were you I'd probably bring.....

Set of 1/2 Drive sockets ranging from 12-19mm-Some of the bolts on the back trans/motor mount are 19, most of the bell housing bolts are 17. I also believe most of the other tranny mount/engine mount bolts are 17 as well. You'll need a good floor jack(to lower the motor down so you can slip the tranny out) as well as jack stands. A good pry bar and possibly a hammer are always good for seperating the tranny. As far as the clutch goes you'll need a 12 point 10mm and 12mm sockets (the 10mm 12 point socket is for the clutch bolts and the 12 point 12mm is for removing the flywheel because I'll assume you are going to have it resurfaced. When re-installing the flywheel make SURE to locktite the flywheel bolts.) I can pretty much gurantee the new clutch will come with an alignment tool, and a throw out bearing-so you'll want to get some hi-temp wheel bearing grease to pack the TOB with. I believe the tranny drain plug is a standard 3/8" ratchet fitting so you'll want a 3/8" drive wratchet with you, along with most of the standard sockets 10mm-19mm. If you pull the linkage down you'll need a 12mm wrech and probably socket. My suggestion is to leave the one linkage attached to the tranny while ya drop it (you'll see which one im talking about) You may want to bring some screwdrivers/pic tools/and small pliars just incase there are some sensors or other stuff you need to remove from the tranny before you pull it off. Lastly dont forget to fill the tranny

So to recap

1/2" Drive Ratchet
12-19mm 1/2" Drive Sockets
3/8" Drive Ratchet
10-19mm 3/8" Drive Sockets
10, 12mm 12 Point Sockets (for flywheel/clutch)
Set of Wrenches (hey it couldnt hurt!)
Locktite
ALightment tool
TOB Grease
Pliars
Screwdrivers-Standard and Phillips
Tranny Fluid
Floor Jack
Jackstands
Pry Bar
Hammer

Am I forgetting anything guys?

I guess I could go ahead and outline the procedure for you since I'm bored and have nothing to do.

1. Get the car in the air and on jackstands (be safe!) Loosen the lugs before its up!
2. Drain the Tranny fluid, put the plug back in
3. Finish pulling your wheels off
4. Pull your cotter-pins from the ball-joint castle nuts
5. Loosen your ball joint nuts (almost all the way down)
6. Remove cotter pins from 32mm nuts on axles
7. Remove 32mm nuts from axles
7. Use ball joint seperator and hammer and knock the ball joints loose
8. Remove the ball joint nuts, pull the assembly up out of the arm
9. Pull your axle out of the hub assembly
10. Remove axles from tranny
11. Now would be a good time to unbolt the exhaust header and drop the exhaust down
12. Remove the linkage that is mated to the tranny with the 12mm bolt
13. Drop the linkage down from under the drivers compartment, undo its 12mm bolt
14. Get up from under the car and remove the wiring harness stuff that is on the tranny
15. Pull your starter
16. Start loosening the tranny bolts
17. Get the jack under the engine, support it, and remove the engine mounts except for drivers side top mount (the engine will swivel on this mount)
18. Lower the tranny side of the engine down, this should give you enough clearance to slide the tranny out after you remove all the bolts
19. Pull the tranny out with the help of the friend, dont drop it on yourself
20. Follow the TOB procedures and clutch aligntment stuff and put it all back together!

If i forgot anything please update it or I can edit my list. Now would also be a good time to do the Rear Main Seal as well, its cheap and its one of those things thats easy to do while you have access to it, but a pain in the *** if you bypass it and it comes up later as an issue.

Lastly baby the clutch for 500 miles so it has proper time to mate with the flywheel

Thanks a lot guys. It seems a bit harder than it was on the mk2 GTI's I've done it on, but I think I'll manage. I thought it would be a bit easier... oh well... more heineken will be required for the job
Why do I have to remove the ball joints? In the GTI I just removed the drive shafts from the tranny, I didnt touch the ball joints... I didn't eveh have to pull the tranny out.

You dont have to remove the ball joints, you just have to pull the nut off of the bottom of the stud so that you can move the assembly foreward and back to get the axle out. I have always just found it easier to remove the axles when working on a tranny. Its worth the extra time

ok cool, I don't know if I'm gonna still do it tho... I just put on new head, timing belt, tensioner, and a few other things in my GTI, and I'm pretty sick of working on cars for a while. I might do it next week on my days off tho
