how much to fix rust?
i have a very small rust spot on the back left wheel well where the rear bumpers is screwed onto the body. very small is only the size of a nickel or quarter. i think it needs to be cut out and replaced with sheet metal.
how much does it usually cost to cut and replace a small piece of metal? if i do this, i might as well repaint the whole car.

figure you are only seeing half the rust there really is.
I good shop could cut/weld and respray the area of problem for maybe around $750.
This is completely ballparked because you cannot tell without seeing the spot and how far through it is.

If its just surface rust it can be just sanded out if it goes all the way thro then yes you need to replace that section.

Yea right, if you have any idea how much work that is youll think twice, belive me to do it right theres a LOT of work involved and not to scare you but if you think that little spot is the only spot of rust on your car think again theres propably 100x that amount hidden under panels and under plastic clips you cant see. Not to mention if you do a color change you have 2x the work.
Look at my project and youll see what I mean.
