Rust problems
so im cleanin my car today, notice a bit of rust in the usual spot, driver side right in front of the rear wheel on the bottom. typical area where water could accumulate and such. seemed like only surface rust, so i would just clean/sand/repaint. started cleanin, and either im one hell of a strong guy or that metal is just f**ked, cause now i got a rust spot and a nice hole in the center of it. anyone got any suggestions as to how i can fix it without it lookin like ***?

Ya, I had a similiar problem just w/o the hole...in the typical rust spot
Luckily I just totalled my car and was able to take some of the hood out and weld it back in..though I had to take it to my friend in a bodyshop for him to make it look like it was part of the car...looks perfectly stock OEM btw, just a bit thicker if u look at it from underneath b/c it's the hood metal :-P
But anyways, cut/weld - but like I said, you need a bodyshop to get it to look perfect - and you can always find bashed up hoods in junkyards to cut off of :-\

you know why that spot rusts, cause theres nothing protecting the underside, the first thing i do on all my honda is sand the underside and paint the **** out of it.
having had five civics/crx's i've learned the hard way.
the problem is you're sanding the outside, when the rust is coming from theunderside.
goodluck, try some of those quarter panel rust repair pieces, they have em on ebay.
