Don't count your chickens before they hatch. It's possible that your head and/or sleeves are quite fucked up. Get the motor apart before you start making any decisions.

We're you running on a stock valvetrain?

Is it a B16? If so then the stock B16 valvetrain really isn't sufficient. I was under the impression that at least ITR valvesprings would be necessary. From the description you gave it sounds like it dropped a valve.

emm what year b16? Maybe you have the early LMA's with a smaller pad and the tit on the mid rocker slipped off the pad and caused your valvetrain to bind at full vtec lift and bam...piston - valve

Remember that you're also running the possibility of having fucked up the head as well. It may be in your best interest to buy a longblock if the block you have isn't salvagable.
