Help me i think i blew my motor!!
ok so i installed buddy club cams and i finally got the timing straight at a shop today....i was driving around downshifted into 2nd and BAMMM!! i heard a pop...got it towed home took the spark plugs out and it was bend w/metal pieces on it...i think i blew my piston in cylinder #4....i am going to be rebuilding it and i thought hell while the motor is apart i should replace everything...i want to do type r pistons...can somebody give me a parts list on what else i should get replaced....also is it worth getting the .20 oversized pistons?? thanks
Don't count your chickens before they hatch. It's possible that your head and/or sleeves are quite fucked up. Get the motor apart before you start making any decisions.
We're you running on a stock valvetrain?

yeah i was but the buddy clubs are fine with stock valvetrain....i never take it past 8k so it should have been fine...i dont understand because its been on the road for 2 days and i didnt even beat it
Is it a B16? If so then the stock B16 valvetrain really isn't sufficient. I was under the impression that at least ITR valvesprings would be necessary. From the description you gave it sounds like it dropped a valve.
emm what year b16? Maybe you have the early LMA's with a smaller pad and the tit on the mid rocker slipped off the pad and caused your valvetrain to bind at full vtec lift and bam...piston - valve
its a b16a3.....it came with my 1994 honda del sol....im gonna check compression tomorrow...this sucks i just got it on the road yesterday.....i just asked for a parts list just incase...or would it be cheaper to buy a short block?
