Where do I belong?
This cord is just kind of sitting here after my JDM B16A1 odb0 into 89 CRX Si swap. Has sat here for a while and I've just ignored it, but figured I should probably try to find this poor lost connector's home.
As you can see its right next to the knock sensor and oil filter. Any ideas? Can't seem to find anything in my helms manual.
look at your old motor there is two of the idle air control things on the back of the manifold, the b16 only has one, i have same thing, just tape it off and tuck it away
It goes to your purge control solenoid. It is not needed, you wont throw a code or wont run different without. Now as far as emmissions that might be a little different.
I cut up Si and DX harnesses all day long.... I have never seen a rectangular 2-pin on the engine harness like that
so weird. Round 2-pins are there normally, not obd0 white 2-pins.
The only thing we use that style plug for is the OBD0 VTEC solenoid plug.
So weird. I'm gona learn something new tonight

i have the same wire hanging after i did my zc swap. its for the solenoid on the back of the intake manifold. not the iacv, the other one.
Like I said it for the purge control solenoid. On 88-89 crx's they are found on the back of the intake manifold. On 90-91 they are on the firewall where the map sensor is. The plug on 90-91 crx's has 4 wires but is located on the emissions bundle on the firewall.
Pic borrowed from EGbeater, 88-89 si intake.
Pic of 90-91 intake, notice no sensor on back side lower right side.

^^^ That info is incorrect, only the 88's didn't have the fast idle conntrol on the manifold. The real pic is of an Si intake, the diagram from Honda is of an HF intake (it has EGR).
The Plug shown in the first pic in the thread is for the fast idle control, look at the location, how would that reach the MAP and the purge solenoid on the firewall???
For the answer, just zip tie it up out of the way it is not needed for the B16 swap.

If the car is DPFI, it could also be for the tandem valve control solenoid. But if it is, don't worry about it. BTW, I always wonder why more people don't make use of these unused wires. Making use of these wires means that you have to run one less wire to the engine bay for other stuff. I, for instance, like to use the tandem valve control solenoid wire for the oxygen sensor heater.

That is a very good idea
