Is the slip-fit made to hold a 2.5" ID pipe? does it look close?

Any chance the pipe or fitting is slightly out of round?

My first thought would be to grind/dremel the fitting to sharpen the edge. Grind the inside edge of the fitting, grind the outside edge of the pipe that goes into it. Follow that up with a BFH.

Exhaust shops sell various slip-fittings, Autozone/Pep boys too. good luck.

Good luck.

The pieces appear to be slightly larger on the ends that should slip but not quite large enough. Just wondering if anybody else had this problem before i take the ol dremel of death to her. lol..

They sell exhaust pipe expanders at Autozone. I just saw one. You might call around, or take it to an exhaust shop to see if they can expand it for $10.

Not sure if it works, worth a shot.

That's a pretty rough way to treat a virgin, but whatever works.

What are you using to seal the pipes together? Clamps? Also what muffler are you using with it? Magnaflow?

Thanks

you could have heated the outer section up with a propane torch and it shouldve slid over like cake.

Nice. Got pics? I'm considering going with this set up. I need to get a hi flow, but quiet exhaust. My exhaust is way too buzzy.

no pics yet i've been busy with work. Tomorrow is my day off though so i should be bolting it up and i'll grab some pics then.. I don't know how quiet it's gonna be though i've heard it is pretty loud without the optional resonator option.. It's pretty much straight pipe from thejdm 2.5" header back to high flow magnaflow muffler.. i'm not expecting it to be any kind of quiet..
