Ractive Strut Bar Install w/ pics
Hey everyone, just thought I'd share my pics and concerns w/ this install.
Everything went smooth except, as you can see, the strut bar pushes against the brake fluid resevoir. Simple fix is to loosen the nut and turn it so its on a slight angle, re-tighten. Theres also not much clearance between the stock airbox and the bar so if you plan on getting an intake, keep in mind that you may need a low profile one. Hope the Injen intake i ordered will fit ok. I'll let you guys know and post pics when i get it.

On that car? The strut bar does nothing but look good. Notice that the strut towers are basically part of the firewall... the chassis is rigid enough that the bar is not making any difference.

quality doesn't "look" too good. bar is bumping against clutch master cylinder. well, looks ok for cosmetics
edit: i meant brake reservoir

its not bumping on anything but the brake fluid resevoir, theres clearance around everything else. its for a 2001-03 civic, mines an 05. but like i said, quick fix is to just adjust the resevoir position a bit. i haven't done that yet. today i will. and i agree with the statement that it prolly doesn't do a whole lot, but it was cheap and i think it looks kinda sexy

oh boy.
a few things...
if the bar is bumping into the reservoir, that's NOT GOOD.
loosen the the ends on the bar (not the mounting plates) and flip the bar over.
what's the point to having a c-pillar bar in a car with a bolt in roll cage like in that picture above? it's like adding a wire coat hanger to reenforce a steel i beam on a building.
oh wait, i forgot about the bling.

there is another hole on your strut tower that is lower and towards the front a bit you can relocate the clutch resivoir to that hole and clear the bar with no problems. (this is required for the neuspeed bar that I have) The larger of the 2 resivoirs is the brake. the small one is for the clutch..... the strut bar made a difference for me also.
problem solved, simply took off the metal bracket holding the small reservoir and bent it ever so slightly in two places so that it puts the reservoir closer to the firewall, away from the strut bar.

I totally agree. I sold mine as soon as I put it on the ep3....that **** didn't do a damn thing. The chassis is so much better than my last civic I owned.
