Default V-tec dizzy vs Non-Vtec dizzy

How are they different? If a dizzy is made to fire once its set then what would be the difference when vtec kicks in?

same internals, diffrent bolt pattern. I use an ls on my b16a, works fine but I had to cut one leg off and only 1 bolt on top.

I knew it! But would a OBD-2 vs 1 or 0 make a difference besides wiring or vtec?

From what I have read, you can use an obd2 dist on obd1 wiring. but you cant use an obd1 dist on obd0 wiring.

The rule of thumb is that the distributer should match the ECU you are running.

If Im wrong then someone please school me.

your right. The obd-2 and obd-1 are the same, even the wiring is the same, they just (on obd-2) made the 2 plugs one. That is the only diffrence. Obd-0 is not compatable with anything other than obd-0. If your running an obd-0 ecu you must use obd-0 dizzy. You can use an ls one if you cut the leg off (only good if your in a bind cause 1 bolt can leak oil).

I know about OBD-2 working on OBD-1 but what I want to know is difference between Vtec & non-vtec dizzy's. My bro has a (non-vtec) TD80U on a z6 head.
