so I'm taking off the front hubs to have them replaced.

I was able to disconnect everything on the drivers side.

But now, I'm working on the passenger side, and the STEERING wheel bolt/ball joint wont budge and the upper control arm bolt/ball joint wont budge.

WTF. theyre both STUCK. I've tried hammering, using a jack, pulling, YELLING at it, threatening, jumping, punching, etc.

Any tips or ideas on getting the steering and upper control arm disconnected? Any cool trick?

 

A ball joint splitter.

5-10 bucks at an auto parts store.

Nothing about this is advanced. It is a common prob though.

Same thing I would imagine, take off the nut and drop it down. Thats how I did the one in my car if im thinking of the same joint.

my bad, i must have misread it. i don't know of any tricks to the upper joint, i've never had a prob with it.

 

ya, usually it just pops out...but for some reason that upper control arm doesnt want to pop from the joint...damnit!!!

 

If it really won't budge, you could just remove the entire upper control arm by disconnecting the two bolts that attach it to the shock tower.

 

yep...looks like i'll be removing the whollle thing....
