Default cant tight my lower balljoint

brand new balljoint installed in by one of the tech where I work
everytime I try to tight the balljoint the the bolt will turn with the nut , is there any technique to do this ?

whatu do is put a skinny vice crip on one end,u put it in the whole and u put the bolt on even. u hold the vice grip down and u take an impact gun and shoot it in enough and take the vice grip off and shoot the rest in, works every time for me

I just put a jack under the control arm to put pressure against the ball joint - holds it perfectly fine

got it done what I did was put the wheel on and let it sit in the ground and tight it up with a wrench worked fine

The ball joint stud is tapered and needs to be weighted so you are able to tighten it and remeber your cotter pin.
