Air conditioning help!!!
Can anyone tell me what might be wrong with my ac. I had it on the other day coming home from thebeach and a white smoke/steam like gas was coming out of the vents. It didn't smell or anything and would go away when i turned it off . then waited and turned the ac back on it was fine then came back so im not sure what it was?
Sounds like condensation. Not 100% sure but that is what is sounds like. Some people see that especially when it's hotter than ***** outside and you have a kick *** a/c.
i thought so to but it would always come out not just at certain times and it wasn't that hot out at all and i didn't even have it on highg so i don't know ?
how would i find a solution to this i have the helms manual, chilton and haynes and it has nothing about fog coming out of my vents? Anyone havea clue how to remedy this situation

Seriously, that's just moisture from the air trying to condense out when it goes thru the cold evaporator. I bet it doesn't do it in dry weather...
Check the water drain hose from your evaporator housing. If that's plugged up, there's a puddle of old water sitting in there.

if you run the a/c for a while on rec it will stop is that correct?? think of it as when you are at home and open up the freezer door the cold air from there mixes with the warm humid ambient air thus causes a smoky mist ..
one think you might want to make sure of is that the compressor cycles normally that you dont have a bad themostatic switch in the evap and keeps compressor running a lot longer than normal

I don't know how different this is from year to year, but I think my Helm book talks about sticking a thermometer into one of the dash vents, & running the AC on some particular settings. You look up a table with outside temperature & humidity to compare with what it says your thermometer should read.
My '95 Integra did that sometimes, but only when it was really hot & humid. I haven't paid as much attention to the Accords yet. (Until my daughter complains about something...)
