Default Does the AEM filter come pre-oiled?

The filter some a little to red-ish to me. Made me question it's oil content.

if they still use K&N, the red IS the oil, they dye the oil so you know it's covered, it'll be from reddish-purple to pink. When you clean it, the cotton element will be pretty much white. RED K&N =

i think i saw some newer AEMs, and the filters were AEM, not K&N...dunno if they're still K&N at heart though, just rebadged...good question actually.

No, the new "1 piece" AEM filters with the black top are made by S&B. K&N doesn't supply the filters for AEM anymore. But S&B filters are still pretty good. They make the filters for SARD and Akimoto too. But I'm going to take off my K&N filter, and stick an ITG foam cone filter onto my AEM intake tube. ITG beats both K&N and S&B.
