removing yellow part of lights?
this is kind of an odd question, but does anyone know if there is a chemical or something that will take the dye or bleach out the yellow from the plastic turn signals? has anyone ever heard of anything like that before? i don't like the yellow turn signals and can't get clear lenses for my car, so i figured i would make them myself. anyone have any suggestions if you don't know how to "bleach" them out?
A lot of Acura Vigor owners have removed the amber film from their corner lenses to make "clear corners," since none are available for the Vigor.
Check out the FAQ's page at http://www.acuravigorclub.com for step-by-step instructions. This MAY or MAY not apply to your lenses, but I think it's worth a look.

Some of the 97+ Prelude owners take the signal out, remove the light, and smash the amber piece inside, and dump it out. Not sure if that is doable for you...

thanks for the thoughts guys, but that won't work. after careful inspection of the spare set of turn signal assemblies that i have, i have determined i will need to actually make the lenses. the whole yellow part is a yellow plastic. nothing will change that.
SOOO. . . . does anyone know of anything that i can use to mold to make clear corners for my car? is there anything that is in somewhat of a liquid form that i could use to pour into a molding? or is there some sort of plastic that is easy enough to mold without having to apply a lot of heat?

that's what i was going to try to do, but the lens is made out of yellow plastic. i have to replace the whole lens with a clear lens or something else to get rid of the yellow. so now i am looking for something that i can use to replace that yellow piece with.
liquid plastic.
u can use algenate, and the liquid plastic.
its gonna be costly for these materials., you can get these materials at an art store.
1:use algenate and coat the missing lense piece to make a mold.
2:let it dry and carefully using a exacto blade cut and remove the lense piece.
3:now u have a mold out of algenate.
4:now pour in the mixed liquid plastic and let it dry.
5: reassemble/glue it back to the original light.
i'd suggest just save up and buy the slear lenses instead.
it will make things ten times easier and cleaner looking.

they don't make the clear lights for my car. that is why i need to make some if i want them. but, thank you for that information. i will have to check that out. thanks.
you might try finding a clear lens that is simular to yours and then modifying it to fit. this is for your 85 lude, right? i don;t even know what those lenses look like. I'm sure there something out there that is a "close" match that a skilful hot knife and superglue could take care of.
actually, that would have been easier, but i am looking for the 89 lude. those have wrap-around lenses for the bumper. they are two pieces and go around the corners of the bumper, so no one makes them. and since, as far as i know, they are only on the 88-89 ludes, they are even rarer. so, i have a feeling that when i get really ambitious i will make them.
