no the sensor is in fact working, hence your CEL. you are runnig without a cat, and your sensor is detecting tons of toxins that shouldnt be there, so it is throwing a cel. does not hinder performance, i ran for a few months with a cel with my jackson header. the drawback being of course, should something else throw a CEL, you wouldnt realize because your cel is always on.

o2 casper sim's are 50/50. They work for some and dont work for others. I just left mine on and went on my way. I mainly got the header to participate in hpde's.
Oh and by the way I regret ever getting the DC header..
Click on link in sig to see why.

whoever said primary o2 sensor. ignore them.
the proper way to diagnose a CEL is to read the DTC code. regardless of what you THINK the problem is, READ THE CODE. do not guess. do not change parts that you think might be bad.
in your case, 90% chance the code is P0420 Catalyst Efficiency below Threshold. This code comes up because you have commited a federal emissions offense by removing the catalytic converter from a vehicle.

As mentioned previously, if you type "check engine light" on club RSX site, there is lots of info on this. Apart from putting the cat back on, Hondata will over ride the code, or there is a fuse in the engine bay that can be removed to clear the code, but it will return after a day or so, depending how much you drive. I did this this later solution until I got my hondata to ignore the code. Hope that helps.
