Installing Rear Pads.. What the Hell is this Tab?
Okay, it has been awhile since I've swapped out rear pads and even longer since I have seen stock rear pads. My new Cobalt GT-Sport rear pads came today, but I'm not sure what this big tab thing is on there... my other pads (Endless) had no such thing. What is this for? Can I just take it off?
Its a wear indicator... it'll squeak against the rotor when the pad gets low. If you monitor your pads well... which i'd assume you do if you have run pads without squealers before... just trim it off... otherwise its the inside pad on install.
Its a WEAR indicator like the fronts.
Does it fit like OEM with this indicator?
It is good to have when it gets down so far in material that it will hit the rotor
making noise so you know you almost down to rivits.

LOL - that makes sense... I feel like a noob. It had been so long since I had actually seen one of those damn things...
