ecu question.
my car has an 99ls w/ 91ls tranny...
I was using a pr7 which was a zc ecu, according to the guy that gave it to me.
now the problems with this was that... they said that my electronic fuel feed wasn't up to par w/ the ls engine so i was losing power.
and i had the weird jumping idling where it would jump sometimes... but all i had to do was hit the brake and drag the engine w/ the clutch and it would drop to 1000
whenever i cruised in nuetral it would jump idle until i slew down and it would hit 1500, then drop to 1100. where as when i couldnt control it before... it would be exact opposite.
I was told that the pr4 was the proper ecu for my set up... i'd get like better horsepower and everything should work. buuuut... when i installed it... the idle wouldn't go lower than 2?
the idle control valve is as closed as should be... should i widen it? what should i do?

what codes are you throwing? are the vaccume lines hooked up correctly? Sounds like you're running without an O2 sensor.
well the car was running pretty decent... its just that it idles at 1800-2000. and smells like it runs too rich and dumps too much gas into the cylinder, and its just going to waste...
my friend says he can really feel the difference tho... and something weird... after i decieded to maybe switch back and forth... the first ecu started idling crazy jumping from 1g to 1.8g

you have to fix the idle once you have the correct ecu
sounds like a very incorrect vaccum line, or leaking intake manifold gasket, or bad IACV....
