I think my Idle Air Control (IAC) or EACV is bad. The car has a surging idle during warmup and at 1500 rpms. Is there anywhere online I can get those that is cheaper then the dealer? I think the dealer runs $180-$250. She's a 94 LS.

Did you try to clean out the little screen? Are you positive that it you need a new one?

 

Actually, I did clean out the little screen. My dad even made a couple of special tools to take it apart. We cleaned the entire thing. My check engine light comes on and the code is for the Idle Control Valve. Once the car marms up, it idles decent. There's a slight fluctuation and when you hold the pedal at 1500 rpms, it serges. The car sat for 2 years so maybe it went bad? Can you think of anything else that would cause the car to do that?

 

I threw this code last week. My problem is one of the wires on the sensor came disconected (I had to extend the wires). When i reserached about the code 14, i saw people got volt meters and tested the wires to make sure they were getting voltage from them. I guess you could try that. Theres a good chance its electrical.

 

Actually, when I took that piece apart on '03 I cracked the connector. I wonder if that is causing it.........but why only at 1500 rpms? Anyways, is there anywhere else online I can find one? Honda Automotive Parts doesn't do Integra parts.
