Default VTEC WONT KICK!? HELP ME FIND OUT WHY

I wired my ek shell (CX) for vtec. Now it wont work/kick/pop in. I have to run the o2 sensor still because they are still short and i have to run the speed sensor. Will any of these two sensors disable my vtec from popping? let me know

ps im running the harness to a harness jumper over to obd1 p28 chipped. When i run the GSR P72 that came with the motor, when vtec is supposed to kick the engine makes like its rev limiting and wont let the rpms go past were the vtec is supposed to pop. Thats why im using the chipped p28

i dont think the o2 will affect it but the speed sensor (you have to be going 15mph for vtec to engage i think or something like that) and reason its hittin "rev limit" is you should be throwin a vtec system malfunction CEL which shuts your car down right at vtec engagement point

I wouldn't run the car without the o2 if I were you, and yes the speed sensor needs to be hooked up for vtec.

I believe its 20mph and the car has to be at running temperature before it will kick in.

BTW, are you running a P28 or an ECU w/ VTEC? (I don't know if the CX motors came w/ VTEC or not)

VSS, causing it to be in limp mode, NO VTEC when limping.

I believe jla is right on this one from what i know i dont think Vtec will work with any check engines on, and even so yes the car has to be warmed up before Vtec will kick on.

bullshit
only certain CEL's will eliminate vtec.

VSS is one. but the VSS wont put it into limp mode

if you dont belive me unplug your o2 sensors and go for a drive. vtec will work and your CEL will be on.

if you have any check engine light your vtec wont work..... the only difference between obd1 and obd2 is that obd1 with a check engine light you can still take it to redline....

obd2 you will have a governer around 5 grand to 5,500

nope. as said before vtec can work with a cel. I know this for a fact because i've done it. The 5 grand governor is probably limp mode. limp mode only occurs with certain cels. 90% of the people who come on here claiming they are in limp mode really have no idea what limp mode is.
