is this what they call clutch slippage???
sup guys. I was coming back from a park on the outskirts of town with a buddy and decided to take the highway back. Going up the ramp, I shifted into 2nd gear and revved to about roughly 4500 rpm. All of sudden, there was a loss in power. I was still in second gear in WOT but my tach was showing a drop in rev and it felt like I was cruising in neutral, so I quickly shifted to 3rd and then forth and thats when my car jolted back into power. This situation happened about 3 times now. The first time was when I redlined 1st gear and shifted into 2nd gear. Instead of that whiplashing pull from first to second, there was absolutely no power at all. I really dont know what to think is wrong with my car. The only thing I can think is that my clutch is starting to slip and its time to replace it.What do you guys think?
My question is your running a turbo... with a stock clutch...? Plus who did all your work for you? you should know what a slipping clutch would/does feel like and what would be some symptom's of it.... i
If the clutch was slipping then the engine would just rev up and the car would not pull. It sounds like you have another problem, maybe your fuel pump going out, but not clutch slipping.
i installed my kit myself and ive nevered been in a car that had a clutch slipping, so no, i wouldnt know how a clutch slipping would feel like directly though i have an idea. and yea, im only running on a stock clutch, for now. my car is a daily driver and I dont street race, so i had no reasons to replace it, yet.
It may be the fuel pump relay acting up also. There was several time that I was driving my 93 civic down the interstate and it just lost power and when I pushed the gas it just bogged down. Then all of a sudden it would just kick back on and run fine. The relay was the cause of my problem so you may try that first.
