How would you determine that if the igniter is gone bad?

When your tach revs past 4 k and starts acting funny. Thats when its going bad.

 

There's no voltage between igniter's WHT/BLU and body ground. Is this another indication of a bad igniter???

My car would buck and the tach would skip through the rev range and the car didnt pull nearly as hard as it should.

My problem is that the car dies after a few seconds of running. And it would start right up every crank, just wouldn't stay running.
Will replace the distributor next week.

Pull a plug wire put a spark pug in it, then put the spark plug next to ground if it sparks look else were. No spark more than likely your probelm. Was is warm to hot when it happened? Mine went bad this week adn it was about 85 degrees out. They Normal go bad in the heat.

 

Already pulled off the dizzy. Got it from Autozone about 4 months ago.
Does Autozone perform dizzy test?
