Default how to ID a ITR rear sway bar?

long story short, my boy looked under my EK and told i had a ITR sway bar. i thought he was just joking, till he showed me his GSR sway bar( boy it so small).
when i found that he mite be rite,i was happy and scared, HAPPY because i dont have to buy a SSR sway bar, SCARED becuase my subframe mite be tearing out.

-how do i know if i have JDM or USDM ITR sway bar?

- should i guess i NEED a A-spec subframe brace.. any other options?

Technically Rob, the ITR sway bar has either a champ white or yellow dot on them. Depending on what color R they are from. The ones with NBP/FBP dots are most definately NOT ITR sway bars.

You are measuring the diameter of the bar right?

Diameter is what you should be measuring. You measured circumferance. You might need a caliper to get it accurately.

Fortunately, the Egyptians figured out trigonometry/geometry for us, and Archimedes calculated Pi to a few significant digits.

circumference = 2pi*r

70mm / 3.14159 = 2r, and 2r is diameter. Your bar is approximately 22.28 mm. I would guess between paint and corrosion it's 22mm. But only you know how accurately it was measured.

Diameter is thickness.. not circumference.. check Chris's post above

..sounds like you have a USDM R bar.

Caliper. Or a nice tape measure and calculate diameter from circumference, as above. Both should be accurate, and you can probably do a very good job measuring the circumference.

What's your margin of error in measuring the circumference? you said 7mm, could it be 6.8 or 7.2? If so, then you can't tell for sure what bar it is. Get an accurate measurement of circumference and you should be golden.

[Shakes head] After this post it should be moved to GDD or just locked altogether.

Yeah, I mean it doesn't take more than Google Calculator to tell you that 72/3.14159 is 22.92 mm.
