Default Min oil pressure for vtec?

Whats the min oil pressure for vtec to kick in? I went turbo and vtec does not kick in now and it takes some time to get passed 4000 rpm "more than when i was N/A!" what could it be? I think its oil pressure because when i put the turbo on the oil droped alot. its now 25 at idel and it uset to be at almost 85.

The ECU checks for correct VTEC pressure from the VTEC pressure switch.
This switch will operate when the oil pressure is >57psi.

Hope this helps.

something is wrong with your gauge.

I have a very bad feeling about your turbo setup, and would be very wary about trying to boost and hit VTEC. Yo.

bringing this thread back to life .. what if oil psi is not at 57psi, what would you do to make vtec engage, or how would you bring up oil press ? Im boosted as well and vtec basically missfires like crazy when its supposed to engage.. I think oil pressure may be the issue

Spec is over 12 psi i believe. But 15-25 is about right.

What are your AFs ? What are you using to tune ? What is your oil pressure at while idling as well as with a load ?

This sums up what causes low oil pressure.

Thanks for that link, very informative. My motor was rebuilt and sleeved 3000kms ago, so the filter may be clogged or something. I wasn't tuning so I dont remember my AFs, but I'm using hondata s300. During tuning I believe oil pressure was okay, but now, a week or 2 later, after the car is warmed up after 40 mins or so oil pressure at idle drops to around 5. I will try the troubleshooting steps in the link to see what the cause is
