Default VAFC, buy or no buy?

Here is a list of my mods currently: AEM CAI, DC JDM header, SMS B pipe adapter, Carsound high flow cat, NGK copper plugs, Magnecor 8.5mm wires. Could the VAFC help out my midrange with stock cams much? Worth it or no? I plan on doing the chin motorsports event coming up and need some gloves. Should i spend my money on some nice gloves instead??

thanks a bunch.

hmmm VAFC or gloves....interesting choices

I'd say the VAFC if you can get some dyno tuning done. gloves are good too, but most expensive pair are probably no more than half the price of the VAFC.

Yeah i know 2 very different choices.

I will also put in the dyno time if i get the VAFC to get the most productive use out of it.

Anyone else with comments/suggestions? If anyone has ever been in my boat or near there and you went with the VAFC, what gains did you see? Was it a professional tuner?

LOL Marc! No one calls me Mikey but my g/f! Oh well tell your buddy that i am interested and to hold onto it if he can. Why is he selling it BTW? Sounds like a deal to me. I was going to get one from Wes and use my dealer discount (get slightly more off) because my dad is a "dealer". Talk to you later.

If you don't know how to tune it. V-AFC is worthless.

Let me try this again:

Anyone else with comments/suggestions? If anyone has ever been in my boat or near there and you went with the VAFC, what gains did you see? Was it a professional tuner?

I believe he was trying to ask if "AFC" was the same as "V-AFC", besides being able to control vtec.

...I believe someone posted a dyno the other day of a otherwise stock R with a dyno tuned VAFC. ...pretty much 8whp across the board. Didn't seem far fetched to me... Bet you would see the same if not closer to 10-12whp tuned right... but that is just a somewhat educated guess...

Personally it is hard to give any estimates, since we do not know what your fuel curve looks like now...
