Default water temp gauge install

hey im putting in a water temp gauge in my civic and ive wired it all except the ignition because i dont think u really need it but long story short it aint working and ive tried everything there is reconnect things different connectors everything. Is there anything that im missing on doing perhaps the ignition line? and if its the ignition line where do i run it to like specifically...thank you!

Are you retarted? WHY wouldnt you need igntion? Thats what turns the gauge on!

LOL word, it's not that hard to find a line to tap your ignition wire to... you have a lot of options...
1. Tap it into any line that receives power when the key is on "ON." IE cigarette lighter, radio, etc.
2. To get a much cleaner installation, put a spade connector on the end of the ignition line (you can get this from autozone or radio shack) grab yourself a test light and go under the dash, look for the underdash fusebox, you'll see some unused fuse terminals, put the key to "ON" without having to start the car, stock your test light into those unused fuse terminals, whichever one turns on is the terminals that gets power when the car is ONLY on "ON." Stick your ignition wire there.
3. If you don't have a test light and you still want a much cleaner installation without having to tap into OEM harnesses, use your common sense and think which part of your car turns on when the key is on "ON," IE radio, cigartte lighter, etc. PUll that fuse, wrap around one end, stick the fuse back in, you;re done! *EASIEST*
