Default in depth tire question...

what kind of tire are you running? what size tire are you running? how is your driving style-easy, mediocre, harsh on the tires? how long have you had them?(miles) how well do they perform...in all aspects? i was looking at a set of kumho ecsta 711's and yoko avs es 100's but i want more input before i buy. they will be for a 93 hatch. thanks...if anyone repiles.

Dunlop SP Sports....maybe 20k on them (came with the car when I bought them) size 195/55/15. I dont beat on them everyday, but when I do, they grip like no other. I cant chirp 2nd no matter wat...just grips and goes. This is on a 00 Si

Fate-o-ar's (local shop brand)

195-60-R14

i got about 1000 miles on them and so far, i like them.

i live in S curve central and have a heavy shoe so i guess im what you say harsh on them.

they handle 10 times better than the 185-65-14 the car came with.

BFgoodrich T/A KD... amazing tire, running 205/50 15 on a built 00 si. Though expensive, worth it. The Kuhmo Ecsta MX is a great alternative, somewhat of a copy of the KD in my opinion, less than half the price however. Get them at TireRack.

I was going to replace my 711's a set of Hankook Ventus RS-2 Z212. the hankooks look like a really nice tire. Nicely priced too.

The 711's were size 205/50/15 and were a tad bit noisy. And they got worse as the tires wore.

I drove them untill they were bald which took about 15k miles/1.5years due to toe. I usually take it easy while driving and practice taking corners smoothly and sometimes quickly.

My car was then stolen. So I never got to try out the hankooks. dumb *** theives stole a $400 set of rotas with shot tires. lol then replaced them with fat fives that had tires with more life left on them.

Falken Ziex 512's. 205/50/15 on an EH2.
They are great for daily driving and will last a while. If you have any kind of power you'll have traction problems though.

Running Falken Azenis RT-615's 205 40 16's, and IMO, an upgrade from my previous ES100's 205 45 16. Not much for treadwear, but good in the corners, and a lot better in the rain.

205/17 Kumho 712's - mediocre dry grip, decent wet grip, lasted a while

205/16 Yoko ES100's - good wet and decent dry grip, pretty good tread wear, sidewalls a bit soft

225/16 BFG KDW's (the new ones) - great dry grip, good wet grip, my favorites so far, not sure about wear because I just started using them

I drive them hard all the time, autox and road course race them on the weekends

http://www.tirerack.com

there are tons of review on there. first off, you need to decide what kind of tire you want (all season, summer perf, all season perf, etc) and your budget. what size are you looking for?

i know what kind of tire i want. all season/summer perf...i live in ca, so its ok. my budget isnt too important because most tires(except potenzas) are affordable on tirerack.com im looking for 205/50/15 perhaps a 195 would be ok as well. can anyone confirm that the sidewalls are a bit soft on the avs 100's?
