Default Possible to modify DRAG's downpipe/manifold to prevent boost creep...?

Ok, the general concensus is that when stepping up to a 3" exhaust, the design of the DRAG manifold encourages boost creep because of the location of the wastegate. Well, sloaccord's Kiwi manifold https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=126142 got me thinking. What if you closed off the wastegate opening in the DRAG manifold and welded a new wastegate pipe/flange on the downpipe flange at the location of the internal wastegate's opening in the turbine housing? Make sense? The wastegate would see exhaust pressure from all cylinders and as long as the discharge hole was large enough, creep shouldn't be a problem. Of course you could only do this with the 5-bolt flange. Sound possible?
