Opinions on MSD 6 BTM...
What do you think of the MSD 6 BTM unit? Is the boost timing retard feature worth the extra $100+? Does it really help with preventing detonation?
Thanks!

i have one installed on mine.. i have just to hoook the 3-4 wiers up this weekend...
it will work, by retarding your distributor without you having to get out and do it manually... so you can run base timing and when you want to run, just turn the ****. It will help detonation by retarding the timing.. just dont retard it too much...
i'm going with .25 degrees per psi to keep it in a safe limit at 14psi.

How do you know it's only retarding .25 deg? I've read my instructions and if I remember correctly It only does it 1-2 or 3 deg..I don't remember it saying anything about it being able to do it in incriments
you can adjust it from 0-3 degrees, so just dont turn it the whole way, partial turns will be partial degrees.
you dont think MSD would make a btm for a domestic that only does 1-3 degrees (1,2,3)... if that was the case if the blower or supercharger was running 10-12psi you would be looking at 10-12 degrees retard.. and i would think that might be a bad thing to retard taht much...
you dont have any real way of knowing how far it's retarding.. you just have to trust in technology... hehe....
.25 will work.
