b16a2 or b18b? need some help
i am looking to put a lsvtec into my 95 civic but my question is do i wanna get a b16a2 swap and then put the ls block on or do i want to buy the b18b swap and put the b16a2 head on. ive read that the b16a2 trannys are better then the b18b so i was thinking buy a b16a2 complete swap and then put a b18b long block onto it and sell the b16a2 block. let me know what you guys think. also i plan on boosting it. ive heard from different guys in the area i'll be making around 300 and ive heard 250 to the wheels tuned at 8-10 psi. let me know what you guys think and if you have any suggest include those too.

if you use the B16 block, you will have little torque
if you use the B18 block, you will get more torque because of 12 mm difference in stroke
B18 block, B16 head

y not consider the amount of $$$ it will take to swap in either & how much extra it will be to convert it to ls/vtec later on down the road. I would think that it would be easier to swap in the b16 first then get the ls bottom. I think this would be the cheaper route (someone please correct me if im wrong cuz i probably am).

You are right on the money...buy a complete b16 and throw the ls bottom end later..You wanna have short gearings when doing a ls/vtec swap, but if you are going the turbo route, why bother with the ls/vtec? i suggest ls turbo, cheapest way to be fast. ls is already low compression, good for turbo 8-10lbs. tuned for about 250 hp. get a ls and turbo that baby
What would the power diffence be if i went with a straight ls swap or a lsvtec swap. ive heard its little to nothing. also what size of a turbo am i gonna want to put on there i've been looking at t3/t04e's are those to small? let me know.

Not always true, Ls tranny are geared taller much better suited for turbo applications unless you are only interested in drag racing where the tighter ratios in the B16 will suit you better.
For exact specs on tranny i suggest picking up this months D sport (new mag as far as ive seen) but they did a ratio break down in honda trannys. from individual gears to final drive ratio.
If you are gonna boost it either way skip the vtec, get a LS and spend the money you would have on the vtec on things like ecu tuning, fuel, or ignition upgrades. Lot more power to be had there.
