1992 civic hatchback CX

the first 5 characters in the VIN are:

2HGEH

isnt there supposed to be an EK somewhere in there??

The chassis code is EH2. The only EG we got in the US is the EG8 (4-dr Sedan). EG is the chassis code for the 5th gen Civic in Japan (ie EG4, EG6, EG9). EK is the chassis code for the 6th gen Civic in Japan (ie EK3, EK4, EK9). All we get in the US is EJ6, EJ7, and EJ8.

i just wondered how come this is a EG/EK forum?? they go by the J-codes??

It's just common knowledge to refer to the 5th and 6th Gen Civics as EG and EK.
