Comptech adjustable springs PROBLEM... please look!
Hey guys, i have a MY01 s2000 and had just purchased some comptech adjustable springs ( http://www.comptechusa.com/instructions/ins061.pdf this is a pdf file from comptech’s website that instructs you on how to install the springs.) and I installed them exactly how the instructions from comptech’s website says.
The car is lowered 2.5 inches and it rides really nice, but the thing that is concerning me is a popping noise coming from the rear end of the car, it almost sounds like the shock is popping out of place, but the ride is still the same no loss in acceleration or deceleration and it handles the same if not better than stock, its just that popping noise that is very disturbing.
It happens at every bump and sometimes even randomly. Any suggestions? Its been raining a lot here lately and I've known that the rotors create surface rust very easily which sometimes sticks to the brake pad, so when you move it pops the seal or whatever.
TIA,
-Nomi

2.5 is lowered quite a bit.....
it may be putting to much strain on the drive shaft (drivetrain) components........
the same happens when you raise a truck to high.... it puts strain on the drive shaft and could cause it to fail...... you have to lengthen them sometimes....
when you lower the car that much the shaft is pushing back against the rearend (differential) more, and could be causing undo strain on it......
just my thoughts.....

all I can suggest is you torque everything down when it isn't under load.
since these have adjustable perches, you should go for a corner balance and alignment to make it worth the investment. if you need further info, just ask.

yes i cut the rear bump stomps by accident, but the fronts were left stock, but i doubt the bumpstops would make that noise? and i cut it in half so there is a lot of the bump stop still left....
