I would imagine you need a new switch (the whole thing that controls the windshield wipers, signals, etc)

Mine does the exact same thing, it's a 97 too.

Haha, at first I hated it but I'm used to it now.

I actually kinda like it because I hate when they return when you don't want them to.

When i first got my 97 it did the exact same thing. I thought it was just like that at first, and like the other guy said I got used to it and I kinda like it better, but on the way home one day it just started working again for no apparent reason. I wouldnt worry about it too much unless you absolutely cant stand clicking it off.

It is a small tab that is controlled on the steering column. The signals do the same thing on my car, you get used to it. Mine does that 'cause the Momo hub I installed. It is not deep enough to catch these tabs and that's the reason why mine don't click off.

Somehow, I don't think that's the response he was looking for. Don't post something as useless as this.

Learn to type while you're at it.

Good call on that one.........

anyway, i personally would just get used to it..........as i have no A/C with the heat on so i don't overheat the car in the middle of the 100 degree summer, but i guess things like that don't bother me too much. maybe you have obsessive compulsive disorder and have to have things return the way they were immediately without assistance.........or maybe you just want everything to work correctly on your car. either way, if you want to fix it, you know what it's gonna take now..........$65 for part #16 on that picture, and what looks like it shouldn't be too hard of an install.

good luck.
