buy a turbo...no seriously.
Okay, a lot of people ask questions about turbos knowing they are never going to purchase one. Well, im in the process of building a cheap turbo for myself (cheap as in price, not quality) I only plan on boosting 8-10psi daily until i have enough for pistons and head work. Well, as of right now, im not sure what to do. Ive seen a lot of turbos on ebay going for cheap, but there are so many different ones to choose from that im not sure what would work for me. I see a lot of people boosting with t3/t04 turbos, but there are different sizes (.42/.48/.50 ar) and makers (ssautochrome/xspower are cheap, but unreliable?) and there are different types of turbos (ct20 rb20 ect) so im not sure which one to buy. Also, would it be cheaper if i went to a junk yard and got a rebuild, and would it be reliable? Im just not sure at this point where to get my turbo from, so any thats already boosted, and has some knowledge, please help me out.
As of now, heres what im looking to buy from ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33742
or
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33742 (this one is pretty expensive compared to the rest, but it comes with a 6month warrenty, so i might make an exception)
or
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33742
or this VERY cheap turbo (almost afraid to buy it, its so cheap)

I know i need way more then this to get a working turbo in my car (2000 honda accord coupe 5sp manual) So if you want to post parts that i need please do. Again, im not trying to boost big until i have enough money to build my engine up, but until then i want something a bit quicker. So right now, EMS is going to have to wait, alone with watercooling and electronic boost controler (im probably going to stick in a 9lb spring and call it a day until i start building) so if you can help me out, that would be great, thanks in advance.

I would suggest not to go the ebay route unless absolutely neccesary. If you love your car then its worht it to put the effort into searching and looking around at turbo configurations. If you do go ebay i would suggest NOT going through ss auto chrome, shotty workman ship, mild stainless steel and modification required hardware for your car is worhtless. There are companies dedicated to people who love their cars, who make products that fit your vehicle perfectly and provide the best quality products. Please do your car a favore, stay away from ruining it and search around a bit.

i second that EXCEPT turboXS, they are amazing tuner
SSautochrome are know to be selling shitty Ball bearing turbo, the turbo would just seize and you now have two housing and a bunch of garbage in it.
and good luck claiming the warranty, customer service is close to non-existance after your money in their pocket. ask around.

yeah i dont think i would trust ebay for **** like that
there was a kid i went to college with who mixed and match parts from random turboed cars out of a junk yard and he turned his crx into a 13 second car for like 1500 bucks i think he said its nothing amazing but he smoked my ***
that would probably take some time to find all the parts to fit though

Dont trust ebay you'll be scammed out of your money. Buy an innovative turbo. Theyre pricey, but they come highly recommended and it will be far less money than replacing broken cheap parts on your accord (and even the motor).
I lost 1800 on a turbo setup and I say do it right the first time and you wont have issues like me. Cheap is definitely not the right way.

Don't forget to think about what kind of powerband you want your car to have and base your choice of turbo size off of that. I'm in the process of researching that right now for my planned set up. Also you might want to look around at all of the h-t sponsers. Most of them are good retailers with good prices.
