ebay products
i was just wondering. I almost bought a turbo kit from ebay for my h22. I was just wondering if the turbos on ebay are good products to purchase. And if so what type of turbo should i buy for an h22 (internals not built). Thanks

Re: ebay products (egbaby)
You get what you pay for you going to waste alot more money in the long run if you got that route there is a reason they are cheap. . . but then again "EBAY" does not make turbo kits . . . but if you do choose to go with them at least change manifold b/c they all crap and will crack on you if you want to go cheap but more reliable i would recommend to piece one together check out http://homemadeturbo.com/ also the turbo is good as your tune so make sure you do some sort of tunning

Re: ebay products (speedooo)
turbos seize, because people don't get the right oil restrictors, either the turbo doesn't get enough oil and seizes, or it gets too much and blows oil passed the seals. knock-off turbos are sensitive to that kinda ****.
manifolds crack because people buy them @ wholesale price thinking it's plug-n-play. those kind of mani's have to be braced so the turbo and downpipe don't force too much weight on the mani itself, causing it to crack during the cooling period. some rewelds are sometimes necessarry, and once you've reinforced/braced that... you're good to go. xs power makes decent wastegates now days (vband), up to 60% cheaper than tial.
bovs and couples are reasonably priced these days so we're not gonna go there.
i've used a few knock off parts before, and these parts aren't actually as bad as people make them sound. it's as simple as what's been previously stated. you get what you pay for. it's called diy!

I really dont think the kits on ebay are that bad. I mean if you have no idea what u are doing and just throw it on, then it probably will be a pos. But if you research and get all your fittings right and adjust the oil going into it so its sufficient, and basically take care of it, (getting a turbo timer, or letting the turbo slow down before u turn it off every time), they can last longer than you think. If you take it out and beat the crap out of it every time, then just turn the car off, yea it wont last. No turbo will. Just take care of it and you will be surprised.

i found someone selling a turbonetics T66 with a polished .70 a/r TO4S compressor housing (4" inlet and 2.5" outlet) and a P-trim turbine wheel and a 7cm exhaust housing (a/r .49). (capable of 700whp) for 450. Is that a good deal
