Default mini-me question

I was thinking about putting a y8 head and intake manifold onto my slow *** y7 block, the only thing holding me back is the fact that i have read on other forums and heard from other people that after the swap my engine will only last maybe 3 or 4 months tops before something major f$cks it up.......i have about 134,xxx miles on my y7 right now.....and i was just wondering if anyone could offer up any advice or share their mini-me experiences so i can make up my mind......or should i just say f$ck the mini-me swap and throw a turbo kit on my y7?.......thanks

thats not true. if you perform the swap correctly everything will last i had 230,xxx on my block and only 100,xxx on my head and everything worked fine. I had it on for about 6-7 months with no problems. I later found out it was a waste of money and to jus buy a single cam long block for the price of the parts (head, gaskets, timing belt, water pump, oil, coolant, ecu, etc.)Find you a long block for around 400-500 from any place like http://www.hmotorsonline.com

mini me will not lower the life of the engine, unless you just rag on it all day long because its more powerful

do the mini me with the turbo, you will be very happy.

anyone that tells u it will last only 3-4 months are wrong. they prolly did the swap wrong or beat on it to death.

my mini me lasted for 2 years with the d15b8 Cx block and turbo'd for 3 months with the mini, then back to stock CX with the same block. still runnning strong.

good luck

yeah I'm with these guys. It's fine to do a mini me and have it last just dont rag on it all the time. I did the mini me about 5 months ago and **** I may blow a **** load of smoke when vtec hits but keep pooring oil in it and you're alright. hahaha. anyways I was happy with mine, I don't know if it was because of the mini me or what. My car wouldn't pass emissions before I had it done and I've also got a pretty heavy foot. go ahead and do it I got all the **** to do mine for under 400 and thats all new gaskets head intake manifold and so forth and paying for that **** to get installed. hell if something happens those motors are cheap as hell.

plus stick to tha engine you wit now.. once you get tha y8.. you clean it up, check tha valves, change tha seals.. wont cost more than 300$ to get it all nice.. new gaskets and everything.. and you would have MONTHS probably YEARS wit that engine..

my 2 cents..
