well we've tried 2 differeent b16 heads.. one was on a b20vtec and worked great.. and the other one he has is on the car now and does work.. tried 2 different soleniods with pressure sensors.. have a oil pressure gauge hooked up.. both soleniods clicked when saw power.. but when the car was on aand you gave them power there was no difference..

B20, OBD2 GSR, and Type-R are the same oil pump, same part #.

Early gsr pump does not have a mount for the crank angle sensor. Other than that, it is the same as the obd2 pump. Stay away from the b18a ls pump.

Weird thing is the gsr oil pump was more expensive than the type r oil pump from acura.

Yeah this has always been an unsettled debate. IIRC, the obd2 oil pumps are all the same for b-series, they were revised flow over the obd1 and they all have the stiffer pressure release spring, but the obd1 pumps had difference between the LS/B20 pumps and the GS-R and Type R pumps. pretty sure this is correct. And yes the obd2 have the crank fluctuation sensor and the obd1 do not. You have to use the lower timing cover from the same generation OBD.

Or take a dremel and make your timing cover work.

The obd1 pump is about $30 more than the 0bd2. Other than the angle sensor provision, the pumps are identical. Makes no sense but I only use obd2's now.
