Mystery part?
depending on the year of the Y8, it might be part of the air injection system, when I put a Y8 manifold on my Y7 I had to block the air injection ports....unless you enjoy a 3K RPM idle. if it's not that, then it's a fuel rail from a much older honda, hard to tell from the picture.
THe d16y8 has an air injection system? you mean on the exhaust side?
It does seem to have holes for fuel injectors, but looks flat, so I don't think it is a fuel rail. It looks like the lower mount for the injector that bolts onto the head, but the d16y7 and d16y8 both have this part built into the intake manifold. I s'pose it was a mistake and from a much earlier (or different) honda engine.

It holds the Lost Motion Assemblies for the y8. If you take off the valve cover, this piece rests on top of the rocker assembly. Here:

I think the 99-00 Y8's had the air injection....it's on the intake side not exhaust, there is a port into each runner on the IM. It might also only be a California add on, as Honda has to jump through alot of hoops to sell us CA guys a car....THANKS EPA!!!
